Whoops

I was out at the store yesterday to get something else, but I forgot to get Futurama while I was there. Shit. Maybe next time.

Insomnia is not fun

I think I got two hours of sleep yesterday. That sucks. I was the living dead all night. Then I slept for 14 hours and woke up during daylight. Not fun.

Guess I'm going to get that Futurama DVD at some point.

Futurama, maybe or not?

No DVDs yet. I've been doing a lot of reading instead. My Mom would be thrilled.

I've been seeing commercials for the new Futurama DVD. I have mixed feelings. I watch a lot of Adult Swim almost every night, when I'm not walking. Past midnight you run out of options fast. Futurama is on [as] every night. The same episode, two or three times. It's been like since I was 16, I think. I'm really sick of almost every episode, and almost all the old episodes of Family Guy too for the same reason. It was cool after the big accident, but that was then.

Back when it first came on [as] I liked Futurama a lot. The years of constant reruns have really gotten old. So new Futurama could be great, but it's more of something I'm really over and of which I'm pretty tired. So I'm sort of curious, but not really desperate for it. Maybe I'll see if I can get it as a rental.

Failure to Deliver

Haven't gotten to the DVDs yet. I just haven't been in the mood to sit down with several hours of TV. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow.

Wandering Roamer? Roaming Wanderer?

I like to take walks at night. That's where the name comes from. One time I accidentally walked into a wire fence, but usually it's not bad. I was going to name this blog Midnight Wanderer. I like the name a lot. Blogger says it's taken. So much for that idea. So the Midnight Wanderer has a blog named Midnight Roamer. Now you know.

Winter's here

It's snowing like crazy. I pulled back the curtains and could see drifts. I'd guess at least six inches to a foot. We had no snow on the ground yesterday. The wind is howling at the windows.

Guess I'm not going out tonight.

Second Post

I'm going for creativity in the post titles.

Got up today and had some ramen, wasn't bad. Everything is going to be closed tomorrow except the gas stations, which is fine for me but does limit options a lot. I can go to gas stations for anything, any time of night, and never care until the few other things that are open in the morning or late at night are closed. Then it bugs me because the option just isn't there.

I think I'm going to work through some of my DVD backlog. The online copies of the early bird circulars for Friday look kind of lam, but that's ok. It means I don't have to stay up late to get last year's electronics or something.

If I get inspired, I'll post reviews of the DVDs here. It's probably going to be Everwood season 1 or seaQuest season 1 , unless I get into a completely different mood. I've had seaQuest sitting on my shelf for two years. I haven't seen it since I was like nine, so it'll probably suck. But if that's true then I can make fun of it. The talking dolphin sort of reminds me of that old Flipper show from the Sixties, only seaQuest, was set on a submarine in the future. I used to think a submarine would be the best place in the world to live, but I think every other episode they ended up wandering around the beach of some tropical island. No thanks. I'll stay at home. I learned my travel lesson once already.

Opening Night at Midnight Roamer

This is it. I've started my blog. Hooray.

It's getting pretty cold, but that's my time of year. The nights are long and I can go out for longer. After midnight, almost nobody goes out. Everyone is asleep, especially once the bars close. That's my kind of time. The only people you meet are just as silent as you are. You can walk out of the dark into the blinding gas station and buy a drink or some food without exchanging a word. At 3 AM no one cares about small talk. No small talk is my kind of small talk. I just wish they'd turn down those damn lights. Fluorescents are cool, but do you have to have so many? It's like the pure white surface of the sun in some of these places, especially the Shell on Eleventh.
